What's in a name?

Sometimes the smallest words can have significantly profound meanings. Love and hate. War and peace. Or perhaps something less obvious like change. One syllable, or barely two even with a strong regional dialect; it’s simple to say and easy to write. But we’ve all felt the impact of change either at home or at work. A change of address reflects the upheaval of a house or an office move. A change in the weather can turn a sunny day into a wash out. A change of government can impact our wallet, for better or worse.

As management consultants, change is part of our everyday vernacular. We change process, policy and systems. Our input can help clients to change their profitability, service levels and customer experience. Changes to strategy, business plans and product developments are all in a day’s work for us. But that doesn’t mean we don’t recognise the dramatic effect this can have on an organisation and its people. If we do our job well, the result should be positive on both fronts however we like to ensure the journey delivers its own rewards too.

So change. It’s fair to say we love it and it’s a good job really because recently we’ve had firsthand experience of the process.

July 1st marks the launch of our brand new consultancy resulting from the merger of two of Engine Group’s existing businesses: Digital Public and CVL. And for anyone who’s been through this process, choosing a new name is one of the most subjective parts of the process but after much debate and deliberation we decided on Transform. It reflects both the fact that the launch marks a transformation for our people and the companies we’ve merged as well as our intention to deliver a transformative approach for our clients, existing and new alike.

By combining Digital Public’s skills in the public sector and CVL’s expertise in the private sector, Transform will work with clients to deliver their strategic goals using innovation and digital thinking.

What’s more, as part of the Engine Group, we can offer clients an end-to-end service that not only improves the efficiency and effectiveness of their systems and processes but can enhance the entire customer journey from demand generation through to post-transaction experiences.

Basically, if you work with us you can guarantee that we’ll focus on the needs of your customers as much as we concentrate on your objectives, if not more. We don’t just want to change our clients’ organisations, we want to transform them.

An exciting day for us here at Transform, one that can only be improved by helping our clients to achieve success through their own change management plans; we’re looking forward to working on them no matter how big or small. We hope you are too.

Best wishes
