It seems like everyone is making their own version of ‘Shift Happens’ these days. As I blogged recently, these animated videos are now being used to promote books, or as in the case above, conferences.
On the plus side, they present a lot of information about the way the world is changing in interesting ways, and they keep graphic designers and animators in work, which can’t be bad. I know I’ve used versions of them to great effect in presentations to less web savvy audiences. However, I suspect we will soon reach a saturation point, and one day someone will produce a video that says:
“Did you know there are 13 thousand “Shift Happens” style videos being posted on YouTube everyday?”
