Background

Argos engaged us to complete a strategic review and road mapping process for a 3 year programme of multi-channel improvement. The objective was to identify a number of customer propositions to address short-term action areas and long term growth opportunities to ensure Argos.co.uk retained its market leader position.

What we did, and how

We provided an expert project team consisting of core project leads and, when required, short-term subject specialists to work with Argos for the duration of the project. Our flexible approach to expert resourcing enabled Argos to maintain programme consistency whilst engaging niche skill-sets when needed.

We worked on-site as part of the programme delivery team, undertaking a review of the existing multi-channel capabilities and delivering a set of recommendations for future enhancements. The success of the engagement was based on delivering the right balance of support, ownership and accountability whilst working in an integrated way with the Argos team.

Results

  • We have been engaged in the delivery of a number of milestone projects including the Argos.co.uk redesign, the introduction of a new search & navigation engine, the implementation of a Content Management System, improved stock availability functionality, and rich content types such as 360 zoomable and video content.
  • Following its first code release, the programme has delivered significant benefits including peak online sales up 34% year on year, and highest ever visitor numbers, sales and share of company turnover
  • Following on from the strategic planning phase we continued to provide full programme delivery support
The team worked with us as part of an integrated project team, experiencing the highs and lows of the programme alongside us. As a result of their involvement we have been able to accelerate our multi-channel programme and achieve our objectives.
